about
This track has been with Calico for a very long time, and we finally got round to recording it properly.
We were recently fortunate enough to have been gifted some studio time, won as part of a charity fundraiser in aid of Dementia UK.
We felt it was the right thing to do to help raise some more funds with the release of this single. The single will be absolutely free, however we'd really appreciate it if you can spare anything at all, and make a donation to the charity via the link above
Dementia is a horrible illness, one which some of us are currently experiencing first hand, and hope to help the charity by raising funds into further research and prevention.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Dave's mum, Christine, for the donation of studio time, and also for being such a wonderful carer to Dave's Nan, Doreen.
Hey! Hey! This one’s for me
She came over early on a promise to me
And we sang so drunk down in the street
Writing a love song, the snow at our feet
And her eyes shine like diamonds in the street light
Music was playing as we danced through the night
And the whisper of future on her breath
Smells like the drink that was soaked through her dress
And the lights go down on this smokey town
Never see you again ’til we come around
Remember, remember this won’t be forever
Is all we heard from the start
Never say never we’ll keep it together
’til all this falls apart
And we’re going home again
Six o’clock in the morning has come
World can’t carry on, someone raise the alarm
And the papers couldn’t wait to name us
Everybody’s shameless as soon as your famous
The last train has pulled out the station
No need for brakes and there’s so need to save us
I’m wasting away in the palm of your hand
The cracks in the pavement are taking me there
And the lights go down on this smokey town
Never see you again ’til we come around
Remember, remember this won’t be forever
Is all we heard from the start
Never say never we’ll keep it together
’til all this falls apart
And we’re going home
[Going home]
Remember, remember this won’t be forever
Is all we heard from the start
Never say never we’ll keep it together
’til all this falls apart
And we’re going home
[Going home]
Yeah, we’re going home again
